Project DirectorGene Pyo is a Project Director and Associate at ODA, using his technical and architectural expertise to support project teams with effective communication and personalized client service. In his role, he manages relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other representatives, ensuring established goals are met for all. Gene earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Master in Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. He is a registered architect in New York State, a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a LEED Accredited Professional. While at ODA, Gene has led key projects, including 75 Nassau Street, a residential tower in downtown Manhattan, Icon29 mixed-use project in Pittsburgh’s historic Strip District, and Luxelakes residential towers and retail in Chengdu, China. He is also overseeing the renovation and expansion of the historic Book Building and Tower in Detroit. Prior to joining ODA, Gene served as principal for 5+design in Los Angeles. There he developed concepts, design directions, and narratives for competition-winning, high-profile projects including Sadiyaat Island Cultural Canal Precinct in Abu Dhabi, China World Trade Center redevelopment and expansion in Beijing, and Dubai Design District Waterfront and Cultural Hub, among others.
