Kimpton Rotterdam
ODA Interiors was responsible for the complex project which included the historic renovation of the Postkantoor monument and it’s conversion into a 5-star hotel, as well as the interiors on the 500 ft residential tower. ODA took its lead inspiration from the former century-old post office, letting the history drive the narrative.

The Tactile Experience of Processing Mail
The interior style of the Kimpton Rotterdam is influenced by the key elements, details, and inherent sequence of a post office and mail, from textures and colors to finishes.

The colors and textures are meant to correlate with some of the more tactile functions associated with writing a letter in ink, sealing it with wax, and pressing down on the perforated edges of a stamp. Many of these elements are incorporated and repeated in the hotel and tower as a way to pay homage to the structure's rich history.
