Amaya D'Souza

Architectural Designer

Architectural Designer Amaya D'Souza is originally from India and earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the Balwant Sheth School of Architecture in Mumbai. After graduating she worked at Sameep Padora and Associates for over two years. Amaya led the firm’s pro-bono efforts in Bandra Collective – a group of architects in Mumbai working alongside elected officials to create urban interventions especially for sensitive communities.

Amaya moved to the U.S. in 2019 to pursue a Master in Advanced Architectural Design at the University of Texas at Austin. Her influences and interests have been the rich social and cultural practices she has seen in India, current issues like sustainability, and the ability of architecture to respond to these issues through its own typological absoluteness.
