Michael Awalt

Michael Awalt is a Senior Interior Designer, currently working on several hospitality projects across the globe. Michael earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas.

Prior to joining ODA, Michael most recently worked at Rockwell Group where he honed his experience in luxury hospitality, working on hotel, resort, and F&B projects across North America and Europe. He has a wide range of experience and expertise in various in project typologies at all project phases due to his time at both Selldorf Architects and KieranTimberlake in Philadelphia, including multi-family, higher education, winery, historic renovation/re-use, and museum projects, most notably the Frick Collection Renovation & Expansion in New York. His design process puts impetus on contextual investigation, the human scale, materiality, and spatial nuance and how they can define and enhance the human experience.
