Envisioning a modern industrial structure merged with a residential building, culminates in the design of Long Island City’s 27th Street. Concrete is used for the structure and façade, as if it protects the more delicate materials of the building such as the glass terraces and botanical gardens. The two botanical gardens for residents (one 65 feet high and the other 75 feet high) have openings to the exterior and are visible to pedestrians. Efficient unit placement allow for maximum number of terraces where some connect to the botanical gardens, while others look out into the street.
